Return of the living dead

Listening to: Schindler's List OST
Drinking: One cuppa hazlenut coffee
Smoking: Unfortunately

Will you look at this? My blog is finally working again! And my website is mostly put back together, which is a good thing. It only took me *how* long to actually get off my butt and re-upload everything?

Anyway, here I sit, waiting for Angel to finish downloading, hoping against hope it finishes before I have to go trekking off to my dad's, where I'll spend the afternoon cleaning out his disaster area of a garage. Why me and not him, you ask? Because he is too lazy to do it himself. So, needless to say, this is putting me in a snarly mood so far today.

News on the home front: I have a new job, which seems to be equal parts great and sucktastic, at the same time.

On the writing front: The same massive story is floating around in my head, and all I need is a little time to sit down and write a few more chapters out. A few things that didn't make any sense to me before seem to have finally clicked into place. A few characters who I *thought* were alligned one way, seem to be switching motivations all over the place. Never assume you know your characters, folks! This is absolute proof that mine always do what *they* want, without discussing it with me ahead of time.

On the RP front: The City RPG was left in the dust a few months ago, after a few of us got too much shit for our "violent" play. The violence, mind you, was targeted at specific locations...locations that all of us who were spreading the violence *owned*. What does this mean? It means that there were no random targets, in order to keep the bitching to a minimum, and it still didn't work. There were either people bitching that they didn't *like* violent play, and didn't appreciate seeing it, or people who were bitching that they weren't *included* in the violent play. Also, a few suggestions were tossed our way, that perhaps we need to change our playstyle in order to better "fit in" with everyone else.

Ummm...no, just...NO.

Everyone decided it was pretty much time to move on and do our own thing, in our own RP where *we* made the rules. This, of course, didn't go over with the people from Malibu Barbie's Dream World, ie The City...because they decided to take our leaving as a personal slam against their sucktastic play. Now, keep in mind, I'm not saying that they don't suck. They do. But that wasn't the reason that we left, and even though the general concensus was that the RP was going downhill fast, not one of us mentioned this, publically. Or privately, for that matter.

It's been a learning experience. Don't ever assume you're playing with people who are sane, and in possession of rational thinking skills.

I need a shower.
